School year 2013-2014

Cave Art -

1st and 2nd grade students made their background with glue, sand and either tea, coffee or hot chocolate to give texture to their paper. This helped them understand the difficulty of drawing on a rough background, just as it must have been for the Cro-Magnon men and women. They then used pencil or crayons for their drawings.

3rd, 4th and 5th grade students crumbled their brown paper bags "papers" in order to give texture to their background. They then used oil pastels in order to draw their favorite prehistoric animal(s).
